The SL 1200GME/1210GME expands the PWM carrier frequency from around 2 kHz to over 20 kHz, reducing audible noise and further suppressing micro-vibrations. Coreless Motor DriveΔΣ-Drive Vibration Resistance Design Three-layered Turntable Platter The turntable has a three-layered construction with a rigidly combined brass and aluminum die-cast platter. With a deadening rubber covering its entire rear surface to eliminate unnecessary resonance, thereby achieving high rigidity and vibration damping. This delivers smooth rotational stability and inertial mass surpassing the SP-10MK2, the direct-drive turntable standard used by broadcast stations worldwide, as well as having more than twice the inertial mass of the SL-1200MK5.   Insulator A newly developed zinc insulator using αGEL™ gelatinous material with excellent shock absorption, providing high vibration damping and minimizing feedback. Tonearm The tonearm uses lightweight magnesium with cold drawing for high precision. High initial-motion sensitivity is achieved through Technics’ gimbal suspension construction and high-precision bearings. Circuit Board Layout (Signal flow: 1 > 2 > 3) Low Noise Switching Circuit High-speed switching power supply over 100kHz ensures stable output, low ripple and reduced vibration. Current Injection Active Noise Cancelling Combined noise detection and error amp technology cancels residual noise via inverse current, outperforming regulators. Upgraded ΔΣ-Drive (Delta Sigma Drive) ΔΣ-Drive boosts PWM from 2kHz to 20kHz , cutting noise and micro-vibrations for precise audio playback. Multi-Stage Silent Power Supply The SL-1200GME/SL-1210GME features the Multi-Stage Silent Power Supply, integrating a low-noise switching circuit and a noise-cancelling circuit. Eco-friendly Cushioning/Packaging Materials The SL-1200GME/1210GME adopts eco-friendly packaging materials to help curtail marine plastics and other environmental problems. The cushioning has been changed from styrene foam to corrugated cardboard, reducing the amount of plastic used by around 70% compared to existing product packaging. We have also taken steps to improve convenience by combining accessories into one box while maintaining the strength of the cushioning to protect against the product’s heavy weight.
