Based on the 15th-century barrel organ, Ugears has created an intricately detailed and fully functional version of this medieval instrument. The finished model looks remarkably similar to the original 16th-century hurdy-gurdy, giving it a wonderfully medieval aesthetic. This charming and educational wooden model features an exquisitely detailed body decoration crafted in a romantic style, turning assembling and playing the instrument into an exciting game, bringing you hours of pleasure and entertainment. It's easy to play dancing melodies, from folk to modern. To start making music, the player simply turns the crank with one hand to trigger an automatic sound created by the strings and the drone. Pushing the wooden keys with the fingers of the other hand changes the pitch of the strings, as the "spring-loaded" wooden blocks essentially shorten the string length. Ugears includes some sheet music with the kit to give beginners a quick start. The Ugears Hurdy-Gurdy comes with everything needed for assembly. All pieces are pre-cut from plywood and can be easily removed for assembly following the detailed instructions included.
