TAKE IT OUT OF THAT https://cliffordessex.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Take-It-Out-of-That-for-mp3.mp3 Frank Lawes (1894-1970) was a well-known self-taught banjoist who began playing fingerstyle in his ’teens, but after service in World War I he changed to plectrum style, playing in first-class dance bands during the 1920’s. When he reverted to fingerstyle in the early 1930’s, his superb left-hand technique enabled him to play the normal five-string repertoire on his four-string banjo, so that he became amusingly known as ‘fifthless Frank’, and appeared at many BMG concerts. He has left a legacy of tuneful solos written in a highly individual modern style, and this is a typical example. Written in C and F major, with occasional excursions to the upper frets, it is not a difficult solo because the chords lie conveniently under the fingers and, of course, you are allowed to use your fifth string if you wish!
