The soft and elastic gold fibre is ideal for beginners in watercolor, gouache, and other thin painting and decorative techniques; versatile and offering an excellent quality/price ratio, it is the synthetic fibre most used by students and enthusiasts. The resistance of the fibre allows for working on rough and porous surfaces such as wood and walls without damaging the tip. The 900 PRISMA Series by Borciani e Bonazzi is used as a replacement for natural ox hair, with the same characteristics of lightness and elasticity, with excellent tip shape retention, and medium water absorption with natural release. The brushstroke is precise and the line is manageable even for beginners, leaving no marks and allowing for everything from backgrounds to details. The ferrule of the Prisma series is made of a single piece, despite being a Studio series: this allows for stronger pressure and keeps the tips tightly closed, and it can withstand prolonged immersion in water and solvent, unlike other pens that are welded in the middle.
